Journal News Target Gun Owners; Burglars Target Homes
Who out there didn’t see this coming?
The editors of the Journal News, a New York newspaper that serves the Lower Hudson River Valley decided to try to shame gun owners by printing a map that included the names and addresses of every firearm owner in the region. In some cases, people have reported that while the JN had the names right, their map was off or the address was wrong.
Over the weekend, one of the houses printed on their interactive map was burglarized. The guns in the home were locked up, so the burglar(s) did not get away with those items. Fortunately, the occupant of the home, a 70 year old man, was not home at the time. One suspect has been taken into custody.
Maybe the Journal’s editors should be arrested as accessories. Yes, they have the First Amendment, but that is no excuse for irresponsible “journalism”, and I use that term loosely.
Thanks go out to my friend, Kenny, who posted this on his Facebook page.
Interestingly enough, the Journal News’ website doesn’t carry this story.
And, I can’t seem to find that interactive map anymore.
They may need that armed security they hired last week.
