NoKo: We’re at War With SoKo, so We’ll Nuke Japan!
There was a bombshell (please forgive the pun) dropped yesterday in the House of Representatives.
Representative Doug Lamborn (R-CO), during a House Armed Services Committee meeting yesterday with Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Martin Dempsey, read from a classified Defense Intelligence Agency report (parts of which are purportedly unclassified):
‘DIA assess with moderate confidence the North currently has nuclear weapons capable of delivery by ballistic missiles. However, the reliability will be low.’ General, would you agree with that assessment by DIA?”
The General was, of course, caught flatfooted and perturbed at the Congressman. He refused to discuss the report, and I can’t say I can blame him.
But the story conflicts, saying the report is unclassified in the headline, but that it is classified classified in the story proper.
The contents of the report have not yet been released to the public (and wouldn’t be if it were classified).
If it is unclassified, when were you planning to tell us, specifically, those of us in the west, or those planning trips to Hawaii?
I don’t have any confidence in NoKo being able to hit Hawaii, but I think we have a right to know whether NoKo actually has a nuke that they can deliver or not.
If they do, China has to do something and fast.
China has no desire for a pissant third world country being able to hold them hostage with a nuke, not the US and our allies on her doorstep if we are forced to take action.
I’m sure the government doesn’t want us panicking, but it is too late for that. There are those among us who panic if they find spider in their house. Most of us won’t panic. We’ll just continue to live our lives.
Secretary of State Lurch, however, played down the report. He is calling for China to step in and do something, or we may be forced to.
NoKo has a history of nuclear blackmail. Every once in awhile, they’ll jump up and start screaming about how they are pursuing the bomb. I think a lot of it is that they crave recognition. they want the US to sit down with them one on one and talk, not these six party talks that the US has been trying to steer them towards. They also want to wring concessions from us. They are paranoid that we are going to invade and take them out, not understanding that constantly making threats, especially towards South Korea and Japan.
Of course, last week, the US was Public Enemy #1.
I think that he is just trying to look tough before his people and the military, that he is a strong leader.
By all accounts, Kim Jong-un isn’t all that bright. That’s a dangerous combination, a dictator that is as thick as the tree trunk of one of our mighty redwoods.
Is NoKo being serious?
I’m sure that Kim Jong-un has to realize that if he attacks SoKo, he will be wiped off the face of the earth.
Not that we would miss him if he was. (Yeah, I know it’s propaganda)
If you want a good laugh, go here. It’s a collection of internet meme’s aimed at Kim Jong-un.
