Once again, Rand Paul shows his true colors.

Those who are enamored of him don’t want to believe that this man is every bit the snakeoil salesman that Obama is.

First he was against drone strikes, then he didn’t care if criminals were droned or not, and had to backtrack.

In a speech to the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference and Latino Partnership for Conservative Principles, Paul said:

“Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.”

New taxpayers? People like Chuck Schumer insist they already pay taxes! Which is it? Either they do or they don’t. I for one don’t believe for one second that they pay taxes, but the government has set the system up to ensure they get welfare, healthcare, housing and food stamps. I am so sick and tired of my tax dollars going to support criminals.

Here’s what the government doesn’t get. Only shadowy people live in the shadows. Granting amnesty is not going to shed light on shadowy people. Most illegal aliens are out in the sunlight for everyone to see, or have they forgotten the May Day demonstrations of a few years ago, where the illegals were marching around waving Mexican flags?

The fiery speeches about how they are going to take the American southwest back for Mexico.

Yeah, that’s assimilating.

Here in Oregon, illegals have been granted in state tuition rates for college, and drivers licenses.

Banks are bending over backwards to give these people loans for houses, cars, you name it. All in the name of the Almighty dollar. Se habla espanol.

Members of Congress have the memories of a gnat.

“First, everyone has to acknowledge that we aren’t going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants. If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you.”

I have a place for them.

We don’t have to deport them, but figuring that out would mean Rand Paul would have to actually think about something.

If H.R. 1292, the New IDEA Act introduced by Representative Steve King of Iowa passes (which it won’t. It won’t make it through the Senate, and even if it did, Obama would never sign it), makes wages paid to unauthorized illegal aliens non-deductible from gross income. When the illegals can’t find work, they will self deport.

That doesn’t mean that we prevent ICE from doing their jobs.

Oh, wait, that’s exactly what this government has done.

“In order to bring conservatives to this cause however, those who work for reform must understand that a real solution must ensure that our borders are secure, but we also must treat those who are already here with understanding and compassion.”

This is where Washington loses its collective mind.

We tried this exact same thing in 1986, and they must think that we have forgotten.

We never got the border security that we were promised.

They have it ass backwards. Border security first, then deportation. Granting a “path to citizenship” is just rewarding them for bad behavior.

Illegal border crossings are already up 9% in the anticipation of being granted amnesty.

And that’s what this is, no matter what anyone says. Paul claims they will not be put to the front of the line, then promises them they will be granted work visas.

“Conservatives are wary of amnesty. My plan will not grant amnesty or move anyone to the front of the line, but what we have now is de facto amnesty. The solution doesn’t have to be amnesty or deportation-a middle ground might be called probation where those who came illegally become legal through a probationary period.”

A probationary period, followed by amnesty.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.

Paul is courting the Latino vote. He has forgotten that a large number of these people are not citizens. We do not have to treat them with understanding or compassion any more than I have to treat someone who breaks into my house with understanding and compassion. They are breaking the law, and that makes them criminals!

If all they want to do is work, then why have the Cartels established pot fields in our national forests? Why are they mules up and down the I-5 corridor? Why are our prisons filling up with illegals?

According to Chuck Schumer, idiot extraordinaire, illegal immigration will be a thing of the past if this bill is passed.

Really? Granting amnesty to this group will prevent others from crossing illegally? Especially since Congress has no intention of increasing border security?

This is our country, not Mexico’s. Do you think Mexico would grant amnesty to me and my family if we crossed the border illegally? Nope. We would be thrown in a Mexican jail and sent back home. That is, if we could come up with enough money to bribe the judge.

The amnesty crowd gets pissed off when people like me refer to them as “illegal aliens”, because it makes it sound like they’ve done something wrong.

They have done something wrong! They’ve broken our laws, and leeched off our welfare system.

“No human being is illegal!”

Of course not, but the term describes the act, not the person. Let them get in line like everyone else.

There are times when I need to go to McDonald’s because of time constraints. I am tired of driving up and being greeted by a person who I can’t understand and who can’t understand me.

I am tired of the government spending our money to print ballots in English and Spanish. If you can’t read English, you have no business voting.

America is a diverse place, the Great Melting Pot, but it seems like, in the past 20 years or so that the melting pot is mixing like oil and water. Something is wrong. The immigration system isn’t “broken”. It’s not the system, it’s the people who are coming here without permission. It’s the people who refuse to enforce the law, and let ICE do their jobs.

Look at what had been going on in Sweden, with the immigrants who went to sponge off the system, then started to riot. They said they never intended to assimilate.

That’s what’s happening here.

The system isn’t broken, only unenforced.

That’s a problem from the government, from the President on down through DHS. They choose not to enforce the existing laws and not secure the border. Nothing is preventing them from doing so.

I am tired of being spied on by my own government while they can’t track these “shadow people”. The government today is so full of shit, but it shouldn’t surprise anyone. Our dear leader is completely full of shit, so why shouldn’t the government be as well?

Of course, in the end Congress can do what they want. It is their power to make the naturalization rules under the Constitution.

The problem is that they will be rewarding criminals and screwing not only the citizens of this nation, but those immigrants who have been waiting and playing by the rules.

What kind of message does this send to them?

My Spanish isn’t very good, but I’m going to give it a try.

Lárgate de mi país.

What Senator Paul said about the drone strike on the Boston Marathon bomber is sketchy but I wouldn’t say he’s changed his position.

Senator Paul also is the one who came up with amendments to the ‘gang of eights’ immigration bill called ‘trust and verify’. Congress makes sure the boarder is secure before a path to citizenship has been started. If the boarder isn’t secure the program doesn’t start. I don’t recall hearing him say anything, except work visas which the illegals would have to wait and work for, about granting welfare of any kind.

I do agree that the illegals have to learn to speak English and the ones who are caught and thrown in jail should be deported.

Trust but verify is amnesty by another name. Illegals are already sponging welfare. They are the reason we have had Obamacare crammed down our throats. Trust & verify is just a way to get it through Congress, and Congress will start securing the border, just like the 36 miles of border they “secured” in 1986, and as soon as the rest kicks in, Congress will defund it. There are lot so of little games Congress can play. The only real solution is the IDEA Act and securing the border, not amnesty.

Not a fan of Rand Paul. Sorry. Not a fan of Ron Paul, either. I think both of them are lunatics.

Thank you for the insight, I never thought of it that way. Now that I think of it, an interview Bill O’Rielly had with Senator Paul concerns me because they pretty much both said the government collecting the time and place of a phone call is ok. I am not ok with that. I want the government out of my life.

May I ask what are your thoughts on Senator Ted Cruz?

I agree with my friend now though, “Nuke Washington and start over”, LoL. There is less than a handful of politicians you can “trust”.

In all honesty though, what can We the People do to reverse course?

I’m praying, posting blogs like you and many others, I attend rallies sometimes. I don’t think if, and this is a HUGE IF, all Americans were to march on D.C. that it would make a difference. Probably just give them the opportunity to shoot fish in a barrel.

Keep up the fight, I know I will. God bless,

Honestly, I’m not sure what to make of Cruz at this point. I think it is still too early to tell, however, he is also one who is angling for a presidential run.

So far, from what I’ve seen, he’s just an agitator in the Senate. I haven’t really seen anything that he’s done yet other than agitate.

As I grow older, I am becoming more cynical of politicians of all stripes. The Establishment Republicans are nothing more than Democrats in disguise, and the young bucks are trying too hard to be seen as “conservatives”. The age of Reagan Republicans is dead. It died the day Bush, Sr. took office.

On another note, I said there would be no border security, and Harry Reid blocked that amendment. Congress today cannot do what is right, they can only do what is easy, and granting amnesty is easy.
