Who Am I?

I am Joe Nobody, an average person living an average life in the largest metropolitan area in Oregon. I like to vent about politics, both local and national, though I wouldn’t say I’m a junkie. Not yet, anyway.

I am neither Republican, nor Democrat, and I believe that the two party system is what is wrong in this country. I consider myself to be a moderate. I am fiscally conservative, believing we need to pay our bills instead of racking up more debt. I tend to be more socially liberal than a lot of my friends. I don’t care if gay people get married, I don’t see it as a threat to my marriage.

I believe strongly in the United States Constitution, and in the Bill of Rights, though I can’t say I am in full support of all the Amendments. I get worked up when people try to take my rights away. I get worked up when the tax man cometh.

I think that illegal immigration should be cracked down on. Levy heavier fines on companies that hire illegal aliens (and I don’t buy the argument that I am anti-immigrant, I’m not), and they will go elsewhere. If you want to live in this country, then do it the right way. Don’t jump ahead of the line.

I am not a doctor, lawyer or expert economist. However, I do research my opinions, so I believe them to be relatively well informed.

I believe abortions should be legal in cases of incest, rape, or when the life of the mother is in danger. I don’t believe in abortion as a method of birth control.

I don’t like MSNBC (or any of their talking heads, Chris Matthews above all), Bill O’Reilly, the Kardashians, Ryan Seacrest, or any of the “Real” Housewives.

You can agree with me or not. That’s okay. I don’t expect everyone to agree with, or even believe what I say. I try my best to verify everything I complain about, but still fall victim to fakery every now and again. When I do, I try to correct it or remove it.

Which was one of the issues I had with Facebook. Once something was posted, it had to be removed in order to be edited, and sometimes that was a pain. There is also no way to add emphasis other than capital letters and asterisks. I like to be able to separate a quote so that the reader can see what I am quoting and what I’m not.

I don’t know how well this will work, but it’s worth a go. I am adding my voice to the maelstrom, not because I want to be heard (or care if I am), but to just throw it out there and get things off my mind. To express my frustrations, if you will.

The opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone. They may or may not fall into party lines, Democrat less so than Republican, but both sides can be idiots.

I am not a politically correct person. I will say what I want to say, and will generally not sugarcoat it.

While I don’t set out to offend anyone, sometimes it just can’t be helped.

Just happened upon your site via a link at another site’s comment section. Yes, we do find interesting sites via convoluted methods. Appreciate your info re Washington state’s plan to restrict guns/magazines, and who knows what else regarding firearms. THAT has received virtually NO press/media discussion or revelation. So, thanks.

You’re welcome, and thanks for taking the time to read. =)

Thanks for adding your thoughts in a well-written manner for all the world to see. It is appreciated. Although I am not Catholic, we are on the same page. I came across your blog while looking for something else. I live in Hemet, California.

Thanks for taking the time to read. I like to write to get stuff off my chest, and prove I’m just as full of it as anyone else. =)

Yep, I am bursting with stuff I want to express.
I have three blogs. The first two involve others. They are both meant for community outreach. This is a fun way to meet like-minded folk

1 Hemetsunshine – extreme frugal living
2. Hemetsonshine – homeschooling
3. a private blog for notes to myself.
